Forever

I know its been forever since my last post. I have been hearing those voices in my head from those that have reminded me that I haven't posted in a very long time. Its just been a little crazy these days.

We are all doing great. I have been back to work for about a month now and its like I have never left. Boring.

Mike is in his junior year at ASU. The light at the end of the tunnel seems to be getting closer for graduation. He is doing very well until last Friday. He is on a city ball league and decided to slide into 2nd base and break his arm. Yup just above his wrist. And to top it all off its his right arm. Good thing he plays ball with 1/2 of my family and they were able to be with him at the hospital. I have heard some pretty funny stories from them about the ambulance ride to having him sedated to set his arm back. He tends to be a chatty Chad when it comes to things like that. (I decided to stay home from the game due to Andrew being sick.)
We went to Orthopedic Surgeon on Wednesday and he said surgery was the answer. Mike gave him his "feel sorry for me I am in school eyes" which lead to him having surgery the next day. No April fools there. So a plate and screws later he is on his way to healing, therapy, and holding off on playing sports for now. Here is Mike before surgery.

Ryan started preschool in January and is sure loving it. He talks about his teacher Ms. Kathy and all the fun things they do. He has found the color green as his favorite and the number 3. Along with the song "Twinkle twinkle little Star". He likes doing his homework with a green marker and makes sure he has his backpack ready for school. He hates how he has to take a nap but loves his brother Andrew. His favorite cartoon is Diego and likes playing with his toys in his room. He is always never seen without some kind of ball in his hand and loves playing with his dad. And yes he likes wearing the color green too!

Maya is still sweet Maya...well kinda. She is approaching the turning of "2" age in July and I think she knows it. You will never see her without either her baby doll or her blanket. She is my comfort girl and cautious one too. She is starting to say sentences and doesn't like her diaper. I think potty training in going to happen soon. She likes being outside and loves to eat pretty much anything you give her. She watches her brother closely and tends to imitate him which could be good and bad. She is starting to show us she can climb out of her crib but hasn't had the guts to do it. Like I said before she is very cautious when it comes to stuff like that. So I think a big girl bed is in order too! We got her some new sandals and she loves to wear them or not. (Living here in AZ seems like we are barefoot 80% of the time.) She is doing good in nursery and she loves to sing like her cousin Michelle.

Now on to Andrew. He has hit that 3month mark a few weeks ago and the colic has toned down. He has been really happy these past few days so we are hoping the colic symptoms are gone. He loves to be held which is ok by me since he is are last one. He loves to watch Ryan and giggles at him. I think he gets kinda scared when he sees Maya coming since she loves to kiss and hug on him tight. He loves his bath and likes the weather outside. His eyes seem to be staying a weird kind of gray/green which is so different from his siblings. He is pretty vocal with his cooing too.

So that is the latest update from the Moores. We are loving this time of year with the orange blossoms, Easter, and baseball. I think our next post will have all of those things in it.

1 month already

I finally have a moment to post these pictures. I have had my hands full I won't lie. But I am loving all the craziness that comes from having 3 under the age of 3. I am not alone doing it all. I have to thank my parents for helping us. They haven't complained one bit by not having time to themselves this last month. They are always available to us with open arms regardless of what they are doing. Then there is Sara too. I thank her and her children that love mine unconditionally. If I need her to watch Ryan and Maya her door is always open. So thank all of you that have helped my growing family this last month.

Now on to the introduction of Andrew.

I laugh at this picture. He had this same look on his face since the womb. I have ultra sound pictures to prove it. I have no idea why he does it. Everyone comments on it. I just think its funny. I remember hearing my doctor saying " oh, big boy...big BIG boy " as she was pulling him out of me. Yes I agree he is a big boy.
Hat and blanket made by love from the volunteers at the hopital.
Ryan and Maya seeing their baby brother for the first time. Since there are age restrictions at the hospital my kids were not able to visit. I missed them terribly for 4 days. But as you can see it was worth the wait.

They love to touch, kiss, hug, pat, and mother this poor kid. No complaints here. Maya is going to be such a good sister and make sure he is covered with a blanket and have a bottle all the time. And Ryan will ask me like he asks me everyday if we can keep him because he is so cute. And I answer him every time that yes we can keep him.

p.s. Thank you Cristina for a day of fun. Love you, Ryan & Maya

p.s.s- Mike I love you.

Yes he is here!

Sorry I haven't posted in forever. I really do have a good excuse. Once I get my new camera software downloaded there will be more than just this....

Obviously he has changed since then and doesn't look like he is throwing gang signs! LOL! But honestly I will post more pictures soon.

Thanksgiving 2009

Let this be the first time ( and last ) that I have stayed home for Thanksgiving without my children and husband. Mike has taken them to Utah to see and spend time with his family. I am 36 wks and on bed rest and the answer was a polite no from my doctor about me traveling that far. So I have been a good sport and realized that Ryan and Maya don't see Papa Scott and Grandma very much. I have been ok so far but feel like I am constantly looking for them. Its very quiet in our home. I think they are getting into something or they are taking a nap since its that quiet. I have a big king size bed to myself which is weird too. But no ESPN, football, or homework from Mike since Wednesday has been a nice break. ( those of you that know him know what I mean ) But I miss them all terribly. They say its not good for man to be alone. I think that goes for us women.
We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner and as you can see by my huge belly you would of thought I ate the whole turkey Cristina brought. But no its the 7+pound turkey inside my belly named Andrew. Some have a hunch he will come earlier than the 16th but we shall see. We had all the yummy stuff and tried new things this year thanks to my mom. I wasn't in the mood to eat much but Danielle had to make these yummy pecan cups that were to die for. I think I ate like 6 of them. Now I am patiently waiting until Sunday when my small tribe comes home and I can ask Ryan a million questions on how much fun he had with his aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents. And to snuggle with Maya and adore her new pierced ears.

December 16th or BUST!

I am sitting here in silence and realizing the time. Its late and why am I not asleep??? I wish I could be in dreamland right now thinking of nothing. My mind is racing and can't seem to rest it. So I get on the computer play spider solitaire and look at facebook for a brief moment. I am hardly ever on facebook but seem to be the one invited to be a friend or play some game. I don't get it. I don't have the time. But wait I do.
I have been asked to be on bed rest. Yes, it doesn't come as a surprise that my blood pressure likes to spike the last 4 weeks of my pregnancy. When I saw my doctor last week she told me it was time to stay at home and rest. NO work you say? Good thing for paid short term disability. There are some good things about working in corporate. So on Wednesday I turned in my keys and said good bye to coworkers. Now I am at home "taking it easy". Good thing I have the help of my parents and Sara. Ryan has been liking the fact that mommy is going to stay home and not go to work. I think I can get use to that too!
But now I am at the point of not being comfortable. I shouldn't complain since my whole life I have always wanted to be a mommy. There was a brief time that I thought it wouldn't happen. It was a long 4 years of heartache and disappointment. It wasn't a good time for me. I hear of other peoples struggles when it comes to infertility. Its something you will never understand until you go through it. But here I am now thankful for modern technology to get me to the point of having babies. I thank my Heavenly Father for that. The miracle of life. I have to remember that when Ryan is having his "meltdown" about something or when Maya is ....well I can't think of anything for her. They are my children and now we are having one more.
Andrew will be his name. He chose us. Another blessing to add to our family.
I had an ultrasound on Friday. As the measuring was getting gone it hit me at the moment that he is ours for eternity. The tech said oh my he is a big boy! He is already over 7 pounds. What you say? ( as Ryan would say ) I still have less than 4 weeks left! I have been told more than once I seem to make big babies. As she was telling me how good he looks he was sucking on the back of his wrist then his hand. I saw his lips moving his nose and checks. Poor guy he has no room left. It hit me at that moment that this is real...I am smitten again just like with these 2 below.

We have been planning a trip to California for some time now and we finally went. We decided to do a last family trip before baby #3 shows up. We stayed with Lisandra, Herija, and DeMarco in Carlsbad. It had been a long time since we have seen them. We had such a nice time besides the crazy weather we seem to never avoid. It was warm. We ate at some great places, went to the beach, sang karaoke, and went to Mickeys Halloween Party.

Besides not knowing what to expect and a meltdown from Ryan we had a really fun time experiencing the party. Its neat how they decorate everything so festive and hand out some pretty good candy. We saw Ryans favorite characters and it was worth all the fuss he made to get this picture.

Ok I am his mom and you don't hear me say this alot ( Well only if its in front of others I would not offend ) ....BUT I have the most cutest kid ever! Yes Ryan dressed up as Woody from Toy Story and he was the best lookin' kid there! I could go on and on but I will spare you. But I think you would agree he is cute. wink wink!

Then there is sweet Maya. She was all about being Tinkerbell this year. She had a lot of fun seeing all the lights and sounds. Since the party started at 7:30, she was only up for about an hour so we did as much as we could before those sleepy eyes were shut.

Thank you Auntie L , Herija, and DeMarco for the good times we had in Carlsbad. I did appreciate the call the next day we got back telling me you miss my kids.

Maya

I don't even want to know who gave her this....

I think it was the other little person pointing at her.

she loves that wagon Papa Scott

A Moment

I am moved to share with you what I experienced today. I know most of you have seen or even been in this type of experience and know its not one you wish upon anyone.

As I was contemplating on what to eat for lunch I knew it was a Wendy's kind of day. I can't remember the last time I have even eaten there, but the prego craving kicked in and my mind was made up. As I realized another errand was in demand to do today I was motivated even more to get Wendy's which was on the way. I approached the freeway with caution and headed toward my craved destination.

I had my cell phone in my hand thinking it was the usual time to call Mike. My thought was interrupted by a swerving white SUV that fishtailed then violently rolled and flipped about 5x to the right. A dust cloud, screeching brakes, and a "oh my gosh" rang in my ears. I immediately pulled over and called 911. As others and myself with phone in hand came up the vehicle we realized the man was coherent. Well kinda.

I won't go into details about what condition he was was in. I realized the victims sister and bother in law were in the car behind him and saw the whole thing just like me. As my rusty spanish kicked in I was communicating between them and those helping their brother in law. I saw good people helping along with those that are trained to help. As I was witnessing the firemen cutting open the drivers door like opening a can a tuna with a really bad can opener my thoughts reflected on an old friend.

My friend Matt is a fireman. He comes from a family of firemen. A family that will always be in my heart. I remember him going to college for EMT, and learning of his graduation from the fire academy when I was serving a mission. I admired him and still do with the choice of being one that helps people for a living. I remember moments after the mission and getting calls from the station he was at. Those were the calls that came late and I knew it was because he needed someone to talk to. One of those times that something he witnessed had really shook him up. I knew at those moments he was human and delicate.

As a helicopter was in order for this gentleman and still communicating with EMT to where he was going the emotions flowed from his family. I hugged and gave what I could to comfort them. They felt helpless and were scared for their brother. My statement was written down and things got cleaned up. Directions to the hospital were explained and a last hug of comfort was given.

I got back in the car reflecting on what happened. The whole thing happened so fast. My thoughts turned to 2 things.

1. It is so hot. Why does it have to be 100 degrees in the middle of September? I think us Arizonans are waiting not so patiently for cooler weather.
2. I really don't put a religious point of view in every experience I have, but this time I did. I realized how fragile life is. My focus turned to the Plan of Salvation. Why we are here, what is our purpose on this earth, and what happens to us when we leave this earth.

A prayer was in my heart to protect me and keep me safe and comfort to those involved. I was calm the whole time which was needed since I am 6months pregnant. I was thankful to a Heavenly Father that helped me communicate since there was no other person there that spoke spanish.

And lastly, going to Wendy's didn't seem so important.

Memories of Utah

Here are some recent pictures that have memories attached that I hope Ryan will remember. I know since he is only 2 1/2 he may not. But I sure will.

Taking a potty break on the way up to Salt Lake. It was a team effort that included his Uncles!

Playing basketball with the "guys" and getting ready for Pioneer Day fireworks at Uncle Jeff's house.

Driving to Tremonton to see Grandpa & Grandma Thompson and taking a ride in Grandpas big truck to see the horses. Playing with cousins he met for the first time and enjoying being outside.

Taking a walk in Aunt Summers crazy flip flops!

Spending time with his Granny Swords.

There are so many other memories he remembers about this trip. We had so much fun seeing family and spending time with them. We took this trip to celebrate Mikes grandparents 50th anniversary. I don't have pictures of the festivities just yet but I will post them soon.

We had such a good time from the kids seeing 2 sets of grandparents and great grandparents, playing with aunts, uncles, cousins, 2nd and I think even 3rd cousins, being a part of a missionary farewell, experiencing fireworks in the front yard, the excitement of seeing large mountains, to being loved and missed by everyone we saw.

I think living in Utah maybe in the future.
